Scotland is the home of Prestwick, South Ayrshire. It is located on the southwest coast approximately 30 miles from the capital city of Glasgow. The land where it sits was originally a farm that belonged to a religious community. The town remained small until the railroad arrived in 1840, making it possible for the people of Glasgow to build homes along the coast.
